JCI Kootenay, What Is That?

JCI Kootenay is part of Junior Chamber International, a worldwide network of young active citizens aged 18 to 40 committed to creating positive change. Here in the East Kootenay, our members show up — for each other and for the community. We organize events like the annual Santa Claus Parade, the Kootenay Bike Swap, and the Ed Fest beer garden, all while developing ourselves through leadership training, public speaking, and hands-on experience. We believe that building a better community starts with building better people, and that the two go hand in hand. Whether you’re looking to grow your skills, expand your network, or simply find your people, JCI Kootenay is a place where young professionals come together to lead, learn, and make a lasting impact right here at home in the Kootenays.

KOOTENAY BIKE SWAP

The Kootenay Bike Swap is JCI Kootenay’s annual event connecting cyclists across the East Kootenay to buy and sell quality used bikes — all while raising funds that go directly back into our community programs. It’s a simple idea with real impact.

SANTA CLAUS PARADE

Every year, JCI Kootenay proudly organizes the Cranbrook Santa Claus Parade, bringing the community together to celebrate the magic of the holiday season. What started as a local tradition has grown into one of the most beloved events in the East Kootenay, filling the streets with floats, lights, and holiday cheer for families across the region.

Ed Fest Beer Garden

Each fall, JCI Kootenay is proud to run the beer garden at Ed Fest, Cranbrook’s beloved arts and music festival held at Rotary Park. It’s a chance for our members to get hands-on in the community, support a free, family-friendly event, and raise funds that go right back into our local programs. Cold drinks, great music, and good people — it’s one of our favourite weekends of the year.
